Sweeter was about Leon Bridges and the injustice he feels as a black man in 2021. I would categorize this as an informative genre. Leon Bridges is attempting to inform viewers and listeners of the social injustice currently in the world. I think Leon Bridges didn't necessarily have one specific intended audience but as a white person who has never faced the same things he has I felt the power of his message. I think any white person in America would feel almost convicted by Leon Bridge's message. Almost like a "what can I do to make this better?". At the same time I think he is also reaching out to people of the black community letting them know they are not alone and he hears their cries. An important message that I got from this text was that the world, although small in my perception, is so much bigger and there are bigger issues at hand than what sorority I end up in. If I had to explain the video/song in one sentence I would say that Leon Bridges is discussing the societal issue of race by connecting with the black community and convicting those who try to ignore the injustice of the world.
